Yung Kafa & Kücük Efendi - Ozean
Jul 16, 2025
A deliberate shift within the VFX-heavy YKKE campaign. "Ozean" strips everything back. No AI, no digital effects, no post-production flourishes. Just the robes, the artists, and the environment.
The artists never show their faces. Early on it was pixelated masks or pure 2D/3D animation. For this era, I designed custom robes: flowing ivory fabric paired with pink veils that drop to the floor. The pieces hide identity while adding a ceremonial weight. They became the anchor for the whole campaign.
We shot this piece knowing the visuals would carry themselves. The custom robes against natural elements created enough visual interest that layering effects on top would've been redundant. During the edit, it became clear the footage had its own weight. We made the call to let it breathe.
The piece functions as a counterpoint to the rest of the campaign. Where other videos lean into sci-fi lore and hybrid workflows, "Ozean" grounds everything in physical reality. Same robes, same visual identity, completely different treatment. The contrast proves the design system works across contexts.
Raw footage. Intentional restraint. The robes doing what they were designed to do.
