Apanage Days Cyprus 2025
Dec 30, 2025
I presented "Urban Paranoia" at Apanage Days Cyprus, displayed on the largest digital billboards in Larnaca and Limassol on December 30th and 31st, 2025. The exhibition coincided with Larnaca being named European Capital of Culture 2030, part of a broader push to position Cyprus as a destination for contemporary digital art.
"Urban Paranoia" dealt with surveillance. Specifically, the psychological weight of moving through cities designed to watch you. The piece translated that tension into surreal visuals, addressing the constant presence of cameras, sensors, and data capture systems embedded into urban infrastructure.
The work ran in commercial billboard slots, the same screens normally cycling through product ads and brand messaging. That placement mattered. Instead of selling something, the piece asked viewers to consider the systems tracking them as they walked past.
Two cities, two billboards, two days. Public exhibition at street level.
